So yes I conceived of this huge formula to determine the best Clash Songs of all time a few days ago. It’s not as difficult as I made out, basically from now til Aug 8th send me your list of top 10 Clash tracks and each response gets a vote for each song. The top 16 (or probably 32) won’t go straight into the knockout mix and will be seeded – so to speak.

There’s loads of time to vote to protect your favourites from the risk of early elimination, so if your top track deserves to make the safety of the ’seeded 32′ get in touch and vote.

I spent a bit of time compiling votes from the first few days and here are the tracks beginning to look safest from early elimination (most votes so far at the very bottom):

• Clampdown
• Capital Radio
• Complete Control
• One More Time
• Police and Thieves
• London Calling
• Garageland
• Safe European Home
• Straight to Hell
• White Man in Hammersmith Palais

None of these songs are guaranteed to be seeded but they look in good shape, especially the bottom 5 or so. Votes so far cover 63 songs, so it’s a wide open field.  Any questions let me know, the elimination rounds for all unseeded songs begin on Aug 12.
