Some mouse does the Paul Simonon thing…
I’ve only one scenario under which something from the Disney Corporation would make it to the blog and seeing as Christmas after all should be all about children right? I must say it’s the first time I’ve ever vaguely enjoyed Mickey Mouse seeing as he’s recreating the cover of London Calling.
The esteemed mouse was actually manufactured by a Japanese firm called Roen who made the figure for a short time in 2006 with the Mickey Mouse figurine styled per the iconic London Calling sleeve photo of Paul Simonon. Apparently it appears on ebay from time to time but wasn’t distributed outside the Japanese market.
Even as a kid I was more of a Hanna-Barbera/Trumpton fan. Vaguely connected it was sad to hear the voice of one of my favourite childhood cartoon characters passed away yesterday, Arnold Stang provided the voice of the brilliant Top Cat and died age 91. Incidentally Top Cat was renamed Boss Cat in the UK as a cat food existed with the same name. Now I’m rambling aren’t I….if you don’t know about Top Cat you’ve not lived.
Have a great Christmas, incidentally….do you think Paul Simonon based his later fashion sense on Top Cat?
