Mick Jones "Ronnie Biggs" track

01 September 2009 Under: Clash News, Mick Jones, Other Bands

Finally got a chance to hear this -- I won’t discuss the sentiment behind it (don’t have time)…but here’s what you need to know:

Mick Jones with Ronnie Biggs, Gaz Mayall, Dudley Sutton, Dan Donovan, Gary Stonadge and others recorded this last month at the Rock and Roll Public Library. Biggs was released from jail on August 6th at age 79. As for the song -- give it a go, a curiousity piece.

Biggs of course is famous for his part in The Great Train Robbery of 1963, his subsequent conviction, escape, fugitive life and return to custody again in 2001. Plus back in 1978 he hooked up with some Sex Pistols for this.
