New Mick Jones video interview
This is pretty cool, if a little cumbersome to watch. On Winkball.com Tom Cat has built a wall that comprises a six part interview with Mick Jones recently compiled at the Rock n Roll Public Library prior to it ending it’s successful run. Winkball is an interesting idea where you can create a wall of related videos and allow interaction via comments. Something approaching of a video blog but it looks to me like they are still ironing out a few bugs.
However, the interview focuses on the exhibition and Mick provides insight behind the whole project.
Video 1 – Mick explains why we are here - good versus bad and the reason for existence…via the exhibition! (all this in under 1:30)
Video 2 – Mick’s collecting habit, how he feels about it and the most important thing. “Your family, and being kind a nice person”
Video 3 – Why the museum is hands on – and the memory stick mystery
Video 4 – Colour coordinated cake…see for yourself
Video 5 – A preview of the final day at the Library
Video 6 – Mick discusses what might be next for the collection
Mick is in fine form throughout, funny, polite and self effacing. It’s great to see him so obviously enjoying the interest in the exhibition and by default the interest in Mick Jones. He also actually has a bit of a tan! I’ve never seen that before in all the years I’ve followed The Clash. (a recent trip to the Caribbean)
Hopefully you can go and check out the videos, the site is a bit odd but the idea is great.
Cheers ~
“The most important thing is family and being a kind and nice person” Mick Jones

That’s a really relaxed interview with Mick and typical of the vibe that the Rock ‘n’ Roll Public Library created at this particular venue. If you couldn’t make it down there in person, the pink walls were VERY pink indeed. Mick did look well after his break in the Caribbean too. Thanks for posting Tim.
Tim comments: Thanks Pete, glad you liked it I’m sure video may surface of Mick’s Q+A session on the final Saturday at some point. Loved the pinkness and the cake.
Mick Jones. What a bloke.
Tim Comments: Isn’t he though….he’s seems really content.
Hello thanks for the linkage – I’ve managed to edit and upload a whole load more stuff, including the artefacts, the Rotten Hill Gang performance and a chat with monsieur le curator.
Do me a favour if you get the chance – can you put up an updated screengrab – the one you have is moderately embarrassing with some rather eccentric UI design courtesy of our lovely benefactor! It keeps on coming…
Anyway hope you like the new ones ;~
