Good morning and welcome back for a short visit to the blog. I’m afraid the general lack of sleep and house-wide sickness has taken a toll this week but fingers crossed we’re at the end of all that. The Clash Blog dog is doing fine however.
Hope that (the few) readers from central Russia all escaped injury from the meteorite this morning, pretty amazing videos are in abundance if you haven’t watched the news. I also love the in-car video cameras used in Russia (for accident evidence I assume?) as I’m now convinced I could move to Chelyabinsk and run the best radio station in town with little or no effort. Universally awful shit playing on car stereos in the region.
As I mentioned a very short post as I’m using February 15 to share pictures of love just to upset the applecart. I wanted to put together a quick gallery of our Clash lads and some of their respective loves over the years. Sometimes, with all bands, fans tend to forget that the musicians have real lives away from the recording and touring and that their private life holds huge value naturally. I also think in terms of The Clash that is acknowledged more than most, this might be down to an absurd ratio of female fans just keeping tabs on the availability of Paul Simonon for example. Don’t hit me over the head for that, it’s simply a guess. As with all galleries click on one image to enlarge and then cycle through the photos and enjoy of course. I need Topper pictures too, if anyone wants to add links in the comments.
I’ll be back tonight or tomorrow with more on tonight’s Clash book signing in New York and a chance to win a copy of Stealing All Transmissions.
