For all of you who live outside the UK or are too young to remember it’s worth reading this wikipedia entry. The Alan Bleasdale TV drama ‘Boys From The Blackstuff’ eloquently defined an era in Britain.

Many of my earlier ‘big gigs’ were in Liverpool, where this series was set and the difference by this time between the North and South was palpable. I moved to London in the same year….

Sorry bout the heat there–we’re having a mild summer here in NJ; no complaints!!! Can I ask you if it’s possible to send me a link to the photo of Joe, Mick and Paul on the boardwalk that’s on top of your home page? I tried print screen and also print page, but it does not show up. I love that photo so much; I’d like to keep it with my Clash Asbury Park ticket stub. Thanks, Tim. Hi Tim — thanks again for giving us all the details and links to the press on Mick’s Library. Please do keep us updated, the press links are valuable to those of us who are stuck in the USA here where news of Mick’s Library just doesn’t seem to be newsworthy. (I’m still waiting for Rolling Stone to cover this — wtf? Pop culture/Mick Jones = great read and perfect copy for Rolling Stone fans.)
