About
If you are interested I also write four or five times a week over at World Service Bulletins about music, society, blogging, culture or whatever is on my mind. I now offer a full range of consulting and writing services ranging from blog writing & training, content writing, SEO campaigns, social media campaigns, WordPress training (this site is WordPress) and more – each very affordable and designed to help your website or blog increase traffic and ranking. I can help your blog and you’d be helping the Clash Blogger. More details are on the World Service Bulletins site. I also offer discounts for referrals via The Clash Blog if you know anyone who might need these services.
The legal stuff: This site is not officially connected with The Clash nor does it reflect the views of The Clash. It does reflect the views of someone who really likes The Clash which is good as you probably rather like them as well. It may partially reflect the views of The Clash in that
this site feels The Clash are the most important band during my music listening years (1978 to current) and released more excellent music in their short existence than u2 have in 30 years. The writer of this blog is not connected to any members of The Clash except to say he has a huge amount of respect for all they achieved, nor am I connected with CBS Records or Sony/Legacy in any way except for the fact that they’ve taken much of my money to then own music by The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite. This site is to entertain and spread friendship amongst Clash fans and also to look deeper into the legacy of the band and current related activities. At times the site won’t be about The Clash but about other things that I want to talk about. This site may at times piss you off or make you want to leave comments, that’s why comments are allowed. This site can not lower your cholesterol or make you more popular but it might help you love The Clash more and know yourself better. If you like The Clash and the blog please tell others about it, if you don’t I’m sure the official Coldplay site will welcome you with open arms.

About the Clash Blog…. well where do I begin? The original idea was to create a site that essentially acted much like the fanzines that were synonymous in the early days of punk and try to create an online equivalent the advantage being that the website would be a two-way street and we could create a Clash based community.
The blog began in June of 2009 is now past 1,000 posts in January of 2013. I began the site because I’m a fan, I’ll always be a fan and I saw room for a site where fans would gather in hopefully a more entertaining place than a forum or a traditional site. I try and post every day, I seek out news views and opinions that relate to The Clash and each of the members of the band. We’ve managed to build a pretty healthy community via the blog of Clash fans from every corner of the globe and we communicate about Clash events and news stories in addition to looking backward when needed. This site is a mixture of stories that are fresh and also recurring features on the blog such as:
Clash Landmarks
Clash Events
The Clashcast – A Clash podcast
Westway traffic
Lost in the Supermarket (formerly Clash shopping)
Video Clash
I also got quite a few things planned for the coming months such as a featured interview each month, more audio links and I am also looking at whether a Clash shop connected to the site might be of interest. Almost a trading house for rare or interesting Clash items. I’m always looking for other suggestions for the site so contact me via the contact page, or jump onto Twitter. A podcast is a distinct maybe at present. Please know I love it when you comment on the posts, helps me keep my sanity and many of you know as much about this brilliant band as myself.
More about me if you’re interested below, otherwise I hope you enjoy your visit from wherever you are and please return whenever you can.

I conceived this site as a labour of love….or an affliction of being a fan of The Clash since I was a little kid. Incidentally, I’m Tim and my Mum says I apparently wanted to be called Malcolm (??) as a nipper…up until The Clash…then I wished I was named Mick. I still don’t like the name Tim. I’m from just outside London and lived in Shepherds Bush (you can probably guess why) and then Chiswick, Acton and Ealing. I now live in the States in San Diego (wonderful town) after stints in Chicago, Los Angeles and Phoenix. My passion for the band and new music has never waned, and with the exception of Arsenal FC nothing rivals my interest as much. (Except my girlfriend but that doesn’t make for much of a website)
It’s funny – through Facebook people I’ve not spoken to since I was 16 have found me and the first memory they share is ‘You were mad about The Clash’. Guilty I suppose and over the years since I stayed loyal to the members of the band via B.A.D. and Joe’s solo work.
I’m a lifelong music fan, I don’t proclaim to have limitless expertise about the subject matter but I do have the zeal to make this website the starting point for any Clash fan. I hope that you, the community become part of creating that site. I’ll look to provide quality Clash research and also talk about bands I’ve loved in the intervening 29 years.
More to follow…but most importantly thanks for being part of this…
Tim
